Felt buffs are used for polishing various surfaces (ferrous and non-ferrous metals, stone, glass and any other materials). They are divided into thin wool, semi-coarse and coarse. It is good to use the densest grades of felt for making felt buffs, because others wear down too quickly. But on the other hand, thin-haired felt buffs are used to process especially important parts of machines and devices. Semi-coarse wool felt buffs are used in polishing surgical instruments, precision instrumentation parts, etc., which require high-quality finishes. But in other cases, coarse wool felt buffs are used. Polishing of non-ferrous metals and aluminum is preferably carried out with felt buffs from soft felt.
